DealTrack includes a replicate deal function that can either be triggered manually by a user or automatically by the system.
To manually replicate a deal, you will need to navigate to the deal management page, which can be accessed via the Browse menu at the top of the page, clicking on Suppliers in the drop-down menu, selecting a supplier from the list, selecting a scheme and finally clicking on the View button that appears.
Next, you will need to select a deal from the list that is available within your chosen scheme and click the Replicate button (as shown in the screenshot below).
You will then be prompted to enter the number of replications required for the selected deal within the box provided. The appropriate number of replica deals will then be created and each one will be configured in the same way as the deal that was selected for replication.
You will notice that the reference of a replica deals will contain a suffix to show that the deal was created by deal replication.
For example, if a deal with a reference of ‘2017 test deal’ was replicated and the user chose to generate 2 replicas, then the deal references of the two replica deals would be ‘2017 test deal (replica)’ and ‘2017 test deal (replica 2)’. The replica deals may then be edited as required.
Alternatively, it is possible for DealTrack to automatically replicate a deal to the next period based on the start and end dates of the current scheme and the start and end dates of the deal within the current scheme.
The rules associated with automatic scheme replication are explained in the Replicate a scheme article.
When a scheme is automatically replicated, all of the deals within the scheme are also replicated into the replica scheme.
The start and end dates of the replica deals within the new scheme will be updated appropriately to ensure that they are for the next period.
For example, if a scheme is replicated that runs for a year and contains a deal that has a start date of 01/01/2017 and an end date of 31/01/2017, then the replica deal in the new scheme would have a start date of 01/01/2018 and an end date of 31/01/2018.
