How to populate the branch transfers file
Create a CSV file for your branch transfers using the below column headers, and populate each row with a branch transfer. Column headers must not be changed or renamed in the file.
- Distributor/Manufacturer: The reference of the distributor/manufacturer associated with the branch. The name of this column will be Distributor if your organization is a manufacturer, or Manufacturer if your organization is a distributor.
- Product: The reference of the product being transferred.
- Units: The total number of units being transferred. Units can have no more than 4 decimal places.
- Invoice: The invoice reference of the transfer.
- From branch: The reference of the branch that products will be transferred from.
- To branch: The reference of the branch that products will be transferred to. Note: Branch transfers may only be allowed within the same region, or across regions depending on branch transfer eligibility configured in your channel.
- Date of transfer: The date the transfer occurred, in the format YYYY-MM-DD, e.g. 2024-01-31 for 31st January 2024.
- Currency: The currency of products being transferred, e.g. USD, GBP, CAD or EUR.
- In/out: Populate with In for the transfer to be identified as incoming, or Out for the transfer to be identified as outgoing in the quantity and cost/price ledger.
How to save the branch transfers file
Save your CSV file and rename the file to the format “SPA-BranchTransfers-TIMESTAMP.csv”, where:
- TIMESTAMP is replaced by a 14-digit number in the form yyyyMMddhhmmss made up of the creation date, e.g. SPA-BranchTransfers-20240417030422.csv.
How to upload the branch transfers file
Step 1: Connect to your SFTP location using the SFTP credentials provided by your implementation team.
Step 2: Navigate to the Imports folder.
Step 3: Upload the Branch Transfers CSV file into the Imports folder.
Step 4: Create an empty file with the same name as the Branch Transfers CSV file with an additional appended “.ok” (e.g. SPA-BranchTransfers-20240417030422.csv.ok). This will begin the import process into your channel.
Step 5: Check to see if the file was received by Enable once the file has finished processing. If the Branches CSV file is in the Succeeded folder, this indicates that the branch data is now in the Enable platform. If the Branch Transfers CSV file is in the Failed folder, this indicates that the file has failed and a corresponding Error.txt file will be generated describing the error.
