Each promotion will progress through an approval workflow based on the workflow groups configured by Enable for your organization. This ensures that the correct approval processes are followed and completed for each new promotion.

Approval setup and user permissions
The approval process required for a promotion, including who needs to sign it off, is customizable to suit your business. Your Enable team will give the correct users permission to sign off workflows as necessary, with additional permissions added to users who need to begin workflows.
Promotion workflow hierarchies are configured by Enable at deal type level, and determine which users are required to sign off each promotion. Hierarchies can also be configured to require external sign off from your trading partner via Collaborator.
The approval process is categorized into one of two types, depending on who created the promotion:
- 2-step approval: Commonly, the user who creates the promotion (the originator) will be the one who needs to sign off before anyone else. This approval workflow therefore requires one less step when the originator can immediately approve the promotion after creation.
- 3-step approval: Alternatively, if the originator is not required to sign off the workflow, the promotion’s first approval step will require the line manager of the originator to sign off on the promotion, as configured by your Enable team. This approval workflow therefore requires an additional user to go into the promotion and sign off.
How to view promotions requiring approval
To view promotions requiring approval:
Step 1: Within the Promotions app, click on Promotions in the green banner at the top of the page to display the listing.
Step 2: Click on Views and filters.
Step 3: Under Filters, click on Waiting on and select your name.
Step 4: Click the Close button to display promotions which are awaiting your approval.
Step 5: To view details of a promotion, click on an individual row from the listing.
How to approve a promotion
To approve a promotion pending your sign off:
Step 1: Once you have navigated to the relevant promotion, review the Details tab.
Step 2: If you are happy with the promotion once you have reviewed its details, click the Approval tab.
Step 3: Click the Approve button.
The promotion will then automatically progress to the next user in the workflow, or move to Fully Signed status if the promotion has been approved by all required steps in the hierarchy.
