An integration reference file (IRF) may be required for supplementary data if your channel uses a custom data integration. Your implementation team will discuss your requirements and formatting of this file with you.
Channel admin users have access to the Config area and can import integration reference files within an Enable channel.

Importing an IRF via the Enable UI
To import an integration reference file via the Enable user interface:
Step 1: Click on Config in the green banner at the top of the page.
Step 2: Click on Structure in the drop-down menu.
Step 3: Click on the Integration reference files tab.
Tip: You may need to click on … at the end of the visible tabs to display additional tab options.
Step 4: Click the + button and populate the following:
- Name (mandatory): Give your reference file a name to identify it. If you are not importing the file via the SFTP, this name does not have to match the name of the file that is being imported.
- Description (optional): Use to detail which process the reference file is used for.
Step 5: Click the Save button.
Step 6: Select your newly created reference file name from the list.
Step 7: Click Browse and select your reference file.
Note: If you are uploading an existing reference file, the upload does not validate the file beyond the uniqueness of the first column. This means that if you have a customer reference file with 4 columns and you choose a product reference with 10 columns, it will overwrite. The upload is a full overwrite; no data is retained.
Step 8: Click Upload. The file will be validated based on the uniqueness of the first column; if all values are unique, the file will be accepted.
If your file passes validation, an Upload successful message will be displayed. If your file fails validation, the rows causing the issue will be displayed for you to review before amending and reuploading the file.
Importing an IRF via SFTP
To import an integration reference file via SFTP:

Step 2: Click on Structure in the drop-down menu.
Step 3: Click on the Integration reference files tab.
Tip: You may need to click on … at the end of the visible tabs to display additional tab options.
Step 4: Click the + button and populate the following:
- Name (mandatory): Give your reference file a name to identify it. This must not include special characters.
- Description (optional): Use to detail which process the reference file is used for.
- SFTP file identifier (mandatory): Populate so that this is identical to the Name above. This must not include special characters.
Step 5: Click the Save button.
Step 6: In your channel’s SFTP instance, navigate to the CustomImports folder.
Step 7: Save the file to be ingested in the CustomImports folder. Note: You must ensure that this folder is used, and not the Imports folder.
