A program line is the main aspect of a trading program that earns rebate. Each program line belongs to a single trading program, which in turn belongs to a single trading partner.

Program lines are located within their associated trading programs. There are three ways to locate a program line:
- Via the Activity tab: Use the search box to enter a trading partner name or reference, or a program line ID or reference. Then click on the relevant link to navigate to the partner or program line.
- Via the List tab: Use the search box to enter a trading program reference, or more filters to find the relevant trading program for your program line. Then click on the relevant trading program row in your list and click the View program button.
- Via the Trading partners tab: Use the search box to enter a trading partner name or reference, then click on the trading partner to view the associated Trading programs and Proposals. Note: The Trading partners tab may be named differently (e.g. Suppliers or Customers), but will always represent your trading partners.
Users with edit permissions for program lines have the ability to edit program lines within Enable for the included trading partners within their access settings. If you require additional help, please reach out to our support team here.
Note: Most aspects of a program line cannot be edited once a trading program’s automatic approval workflow has been started - learn how to edit a trading program if the workflow is in progress here. Additionally, if the Finance app is enabled, certain aspects of a program line cannot be edited once cash has been assigned to its associated payment lines.
To edit a program line for a proposal trading program:
Step 1: Click the Program lines tab within a trading program.
Step 2: Click a program line row to select the line you wish to edit.
Step 3: Click the Edit program line button.
Step 4: Make your required changes to the program line. Need help making changes? Learn more about program lines settings here.
Step 5: Once you are happy with your program line settings, click the Save button. Your program line will now be updated for your selected trading program.
Program lines can be replicated to save you time in configuring settings for other similar program lines. This can either be done on an ad-hoc basis to manually replicate a program line, or automatically via trading program replication.
Users with edit permissions for program lines have the ability to manually replicate program lines within Enable for the included trading partners within their access settings. If you require additional help, please reach out to our support team here.
To replicate a program line manually:
Step 1: Click the Program lines tab within a trading program.
Step 2: Click a program line row to select the line you wish to replicate.
Step 3: Click … next to the Edit program line button.
Step 4: Click Replicate.
Step 5: Enter the number of replications required for the selected program line, and click the Replicate button.
The appropriate number of replica program lines will then be created, with the same configuration as the original program line.
The reference of a replica program lines will contain a suffix to show that the program line was created via replication. Example: If a program line with a reference of ‘Volume Incentive’ was replicated with 2 replications, the references of the two new program lines would be ‘Volume Incentive(replica)’ and ‘Volume Incentive(replica 2)’.
The replicas may then be edited as required.
Alternatively, it is possible for Enable to automatically replicate a program line to the next period using automatic trading program replication.
When a trading program is automatically replicated, all of the program lines within it are also replicated into the replica program.
The start and end dates of the replica program lines within the new trading program will be updated appropriately to ensure that they are for the next period.
Example: If a trading program for a calendar year is and contains a program line that has a start date of 01/01/2024 and an end date of 31/01/2024, then the replica in the new program would have a start date of 01/01/2025 and an end date of 31/01/2025.
If you would like automatic replication to be set up for your trading programs, please raise a ticket with our Support team including details of the changes you’d like to make.
