UoM options available in a program line
Unit of measure settings can be made available on the right side of a program line’s edit/view page.
Note: If you cannot see this section, reach out to the Enable Support team to request that UoM is set up for your channel.
Three types of settings are available:
-
Global UoM: Used for UoM conversion rates and units on a per-product basis that are consistent across program lines. For example: Product A has a ratio of 1 box = 5 bags = 10 jugs. When either of these units is chosen in a program line, the stated conversion rate will be automatically applied based on the transacted unit of measure.
-
Program line-specific UoM: Used when every product item in a program line uses the same unit of measure conversion ratio. For example: When rebate is earned for the program line on kilograms of a product, and all qualifying products are transacted in grams.
-
Product-specific UoM: Used to define the conversion ratio for each product item in a program line individually. For example: When rebate is earned on bags of product and each product item fits differently into a bag depending on the program line. In this example, Product A’s ratio for Program Line Y is 1 case = 3 bags, whereas Product A’s ratio for Program Line Z is 1 case = 2 bags.
How to use global UoM conversions in a program line
Global UoM conversions are used when a product item in your channel uses a consistent unit of measure conversion.
To configure global UoM conversions in a program line, select from the following options in the Unit of measure section in the program line settings.
-
Enable UoM conversion: Select Products-specific (global).
-
Program line unit of measure: Select the relevant unit of measure for the program line. Note: This drop-down menu will only display units of measure specified in the UoM master list for your channel.
-
Download conversion rates: Click on UoM Master List to download global rates for the program line's qualifying dimensions. If any rates in this downloaded list require changing, learn how to configure global unit of measure conversions here.
How to use program line-specific UoM conversions
Program line-specific UoM conversions are used when every product item in a program line uses the same unit of measure conversion ratio.
To configure program line-specific UoM conversions, select from the following options in the Unit of measure section in the program line settings.
-
Program line unit of measure: Enter the name of the unit of measure used for the program line.
-
Enable UoM conversion: Select UoM conversion enabled to define the conversion calculated in the program line.
-
Transactions unit of measure: Enter the name of the unit of measure used in transaction lines.
-
Quantity of [UoM] in 1 transacted units: Enter the value of program line units equivalent to 1 transacted unit.
-
Conversion: Select the applicable conversion to be used for calculations, i.e. Quantity of transacted units in 1 [UoM], or Quantity of [UoM] in 1 transacted units.
How to use product-specific UoM conversions
Product-specific UoM conversions are used to define the conversion for each product item in a program line individually.
To configure product-specific UoM conversions, select from the following options in the Unit of measure section in the program line settings.
-
Enable UoM conversion: Select Product-specific.
-
Program line unit of measure: Enter the name of the unit of measure used for the program line.
