Group and individual targets can be used to add additional granularity to your calculations by setting the level at which a target band is calculated. This can benefit you if your channel handles customer rebates or is a buying group.

How to configure group and individual targets
To add group and/or individual targets in the edit page of a program line:
Step 1: Ensure a Mechanism has been selected where targets are used.
Step 2: Under the Target bands section in the program line settings, select one of the following options for Target transactions type:
-
Individual: Use this to set individual targets at dimension or attribute level, depending on the mechanism selected. Tip: If your channel uses customer rebates, individual targets could be the customer's franchisees or individual regions where the customer operates. Alternatively, if your channel manages buying group rebates, individual targets could be at member or member type level.
-
Group: Use this to set group-wide targets at dimension level (e.g. buying group level). Note: This is the same as setting up a program line for an applicable mechanism without the Group and Individual targets functionality enabled.
-
Group and Individual: Use this to set both group targets at dimension level, and individual targets at dimension or attribute level depending on the mechanism selected. When Group and Individual targets are used, only the highest of the two payouts are earned by the individual. Tip: Use this to ensure only the highest target produces earnings to prevent double counting.
For example, if a set of targets is set for both Group and Individual targets:
-
If your channel uses buying groups: When a member achieves a higher rebate % rate than the overall group, the member will receive the preferential rebate rate over that of other buying group members.
-
If your channel uses customer rebates: If a customer region/franchise is outperforming other facilities, the individual facility will receive the preferential rebate rate.
Note: If you cannot see the Target transactions type option, reach out to the Enable Support team to request that group and individual targets are set up for your mechanism.
Step 3: Click the Add button to create the relevant targets for the transaction type.
Step 4: Enter the details for the group/individual target. Click OK.
Step 5: Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any additional target bands required.
Tip: Hover over the tooltip next to Individual target to display the level individual targets operate at.
How to set individual target overrides
Individual target overrides allows you to enforce that selected individuals achieve a target band regardless of their transactions.
To add individual target overrides:
Step 1: Click on the + button under Individual target overrides on the right of the program line settings page.
Step 2: Select the band that you wish to override targets for.
Step 3: Select the individuals (e.g. members) you wish to apply the override to. Note: This may be at dimension or attribute level, depending on the mechanism selected.
Step 4: Click the Save button to enforce that the selected individuals achieve the target band regardless of their transactions.
