To create your program line, you will need to complete the details for the options outlined below.
Populate the following program line settings:
- Reference: Enter a reference for the program line, which will be displayed on the trading program PDF and visible to your trading partner. You can also use program line references to filter reports. This reference does not need to be unique.
- Description: Enter an optional description for the program line, which will be displayed on the trading program PDF and visible to your trading partner.
- Start date: The date your program line begins. This will default to the start date of your trading program, but can be different for the program line. Note: Transaction data for your trading program will be matched to its program lines. Part of this matching is based on the date of the transaction, in that the given data must fall within the period for the program line.
- End date: The date your program line ends. This will default to the end date of your trading program, but can be different for the program line. Note: The start and end dates can be the same date if required, e.g. for single day agreements or promotional sales.
- Program line type: Select a type that best reflects the purpose of the program line. Program line types can be used for reporting purposes. If you wish to add, remove or make any changes to the configured program line types, please raise a ticket with our Support team including details of the changes you’d like to make.
- Notes: Enter any additional notes for the program line, which will be displayed on the trading program PDF and visible to your trading partner.
- Mechanism: Select the applicable mechanism from the configured options. Each mechanism will contain unique calculations; see our guidance on mechanisms for more information.
- Payment granularity: Select the level at which payment is expected for this program line. Learn more about payment granularity here.
- Payment frequency: Select the frequency to determine how many payment lines are generated for the program line’s term. Learn more about payment frequency here.
- Claim point: Select the point at which you want to claim rebate for the payment line, based on the payment frequency. In arrears will have payment lines claimed on the end date of the payment line, whereas In advance will have payment lines claimed on the start date of the payment line.
- Processed: If this field has been configured for your channel, only set the checkbox if payments have been manually allocated for the program line. Learn more about processed program lines here.
Once you have selected a mechanism, the Qualifying transactions section will be displayed on the right.

- Inverse earnings: Click on the More at the bottom of the right section to display the Inverse earnings setting.
