When to use the transaction report
Earning data validation
- Use the transaction report alongside the program and/or daily earnings report when considering any inaccuracies within earnings.
- If your earnings are not as expected, verify the values in the transaction report results in addition to other channel-specific data (e.g. products or transaction types used on transaction lines).
- This allows you to highlight any small inconsistencies that may exist within your data.
Transactions data validation
- You may also use the transaction report to verify that your expected total transacted values have been imported and reconciled.
- Missing data could highlight unreconciled transactions for your channel admin user to review, or highlight required transactions that haven't been imported into Enable.
How to navigate to the transaction report
To access the transaction report in trading programs:
Step 1: Click on Reports in the green banner at the top of the page
Step 2: Click on Transactions in the drop-down menu.
If the Reports menu is not available, a channel admin user at your organization will need to provide you with the correct user permissions.
How to use filters in the transaction report
Filters on the transaction report can be used to add more context to report results. Filters are all optional except for Trading partner which is mandatory.
The filters available are:
- Trading partner: Click the hamburger icon to select one or more trading partners. This filters results to only display transactions which exist with the selected partner(s). Alternatively, click on Select all for the report results to include all partners. If you have trading partner attribute data, you can also select groups of trading partners.
- Currency: Click the hamburger icon to select one or more currency, to filter results to only display transactions for a given currency (or currencies). Options to select from are based on currencies configured in your channel.
- Transaction period: Click to select a From and To date to only display transactions for the given date range. The From and To dates can be used separately or together.
- Frequency: Select from Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Annual, None, or Full period to set the granularity of the transactions displayed in the report. E.g. selecting None will display by individual transaction line, Monthly will display transactions grouped by each month, and Full period will display the totals across transactions held within the channel’s data.
- Dimension filters: Use to include only specific dimension items (e.g. products) or dimension attributes (e.g. product categories or groups). Click here to learn how to configure dimension filters.
- View by: Click the hamburger icon to set the checkbox for one or multiple dimension items and/or dimension attributes, to increase the granularity of the transactions displayed. Each View by selected will display an additional column in the report (e.g. specific products, product categories, or branches). Note: Each report supports a maximum of 3 view bys. Viewing and understanding the report results
Once you have clicked to Preview results from the filters page, the transaction report will be displayed with the first 40 results. Loading times may vary depending on the number of results in your report.
The report preview displays totals at the bottom of each column from the full data set, even if the preview doesn’t include all rows.
The buttons below the report can be used to:
- Download to save and view the results for the full report as a CSV file.
- Refresh to update results based on any changes made within the channel since the report was generated.
- Change criteria to navigate back to the report filters to make any amendments.
The columns displayed in the report results include:
- Trading partner: The name of the trading partner who the transaction was with.
- Trading partner reference: The reference of the trading partner that transaction was with.
- Transaction date(s): The actual date, or dates from and to, that the transaction(s) in the row occurred.
- Total transacted units: The total units for the transaction or group of transactions in the row.
- Total transacted value: The total value for the transaction or group of transactions in the row.
- Currency: The currency of the transactions for the row.
Additional columns may also be displayed grouping transactions, e.g. by product category, if a View by filter was used for the report. This aggregates the transactions displayed in each row.
If a frequency of None was selected in the report filters, additional columns will also be displayed, populated based on the original transactions imported. These could include Product and Branch.
